A Discussion and Botanical Bike Trip to Daugavas Loki

As you remember, I'm still heading to Turkey on April 30, despite my bad shoulder.

On the left is our favorite prof from the Daugavpils RTU named Igor.  He's explaining where we could ride to my classmate, who is an RTU PhD student, meaning he's also kind of a prof. And his name is Igor, too.

As part of the prep, the team and some curious folks rode 53 km yesterday, and at the same time we discussed pressing issues in a clearing.

We rode to where I'd already been, to Daugavas Loki, just from the other side. Riding in a group is easier, by the way, or maybe the cycling gear made a difference, plus the enthusiasm of the first ride in months (I hadn't been on a bike at all since New Year's, and before that – I only rode it to work).

There were about 9 people in total, as you can see.

In case anyone's wondering, it was 15 degrees max outside, and the water was absolutely freezing
